  • McLaren and Mercedes ask for front wing clarifications
    After a few teams questioned the legality of the front wings used by Red Bull and Ferrari, McLaren and Mercedes GP have taken the initiative to ask the FIA for further clarification. During and after the German GP both teams in question passed the flexibility tests issued on the front wings, but further analysis has shown that they in fact do flex further down than what should be deemed legal.

  • Kobayashi gets five-place grid penalty
    Sauber driver Kamui Kobayashi was handed a five-place grid penalty for tomorrow's Hungarian Grand Prix as he ignored a call to go into the FIA garage during qualifying. Kobayashi was called in by the stewards to be weighed after the end of Q2, but he did not see the red light at the pitlane entry and drove towards his team's garage. Due to the penalty, Kobayashi will start from 23rd on the grid.

  • Another all Red Bull front row at Hungary
    It wasn't a really exciting qualifying session this afternoon at the Hungaroring as the Red Bull Racing F1 Team dominated the session, just as they dominated all three free practice sessions. Sebastian Vettel took another pole position, team mate Mark Webber will join him on the front row.

  • Two Ferrari cars on the second row
    Two cars on the second row: that was the positive outcome of qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix at Budapest, for the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, with Fernando Alonso in third place and Felipe Massa fourth.

  • Petrov outqualifies Kubica for the first time this season
    For the third time this year, both Renault F1 Team cars qualified in the top 10. It is, however, the first time that rookie driver, Vitaly Petrov, outpaces his team mate Robert Kubica. The duo will start from the fourth row on the grid.

  • Difficult afternoon for Button
    The Hungarian qualifying session wasn't exactly a walk in the park for the team that's leading both championships. McLaren's Jenson Button was unable to make it into Q3 and will start from 11th on the grid, team mate Lewis Hamilton will start the race from 5th, behind his biggest rivals for the title.

  • Senna beats Yamamoto in Hungarian qualifying, HRT still far behind
    Hispania Racing, HRT F1 Team, completed qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix today. Both Bruno Senna’s and Sakon Yamamoto’s cars performed reliably and also managed to run faster than in the morning session. Bruno Senna will start tomorrow’s race from 23rd position after clocking a best lap time of 1.26.391 and Sakon Yamamoto will start just behind him in 24th position (1.26.453).

  • Williams duo to start Hungarian GP from 10th and 12th on the grid
    In today’s qualifying session for the Hungarian GP, Nico Hulkenberg completed the afternoon in the top ten. After a strong start Rubens Barrichello, fell foul of the short lap distance which created a very busy Q2 session during which he was unable to find sufficient track space with which to extract the best from the option tyre. He will start from P12.

  • Toro Rosso happy to get both drivers into Q2
    The Scuderia Toro Rosso had a good day at the Hungaroring as both Sebastian Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari made it into Q2 of this afternoon's qualifying session. Buemi will start tomorrow's Hungarian Grand Prix from 15th on the grid, team mate Alguersuari from 17th.

  • Sixth for Rosberg as Schumi disappoints
    A strong performance from Nico Rosberg today saw him qualify in sixth place for Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest. Team-mate Michael Schumacher had a more difficult session and qualified in 14th position.
