I just spent several hours a couple weekends ago to get this stupid site working with Mambo. Mambo is supposed to make your life easier, but its just a POS PITA. I installed it, but everything seems to be broken. I spend 15 minutes writing my first story to input, but it doesn't save it. Retarded, then whenever I try to add a link with the stupid WYSIWYG editor it doesn't even show up right. For some reason mambo wants to try to rewrite the URL. Also whenever a period is present it shows a period and a question mark. As I write this short blurb I'm not sure if its going to save. Can someone who uses Mambo tell me why its so crappy considering how popular they claim it is? Anyway, if you are reading my site right now... sorry for the crappy functionality. The story's create date is supposed to be present too. I think I should have known Mambo might not be as good as I hoped (since trying to actually use the damn thing), when it has really poor documentation.

---update... I backed up what I had and installed from scratch using a zipped stable release instead of using the CVS checkout. I couldn't figure out which CVS module I was supposed to use. I was using 4.5.x and it must have had tons of bugs. It seems a little better, but certain things about Mambo really annoy me so far... little layout options like how the main stories are organized and listed on the front page. Hopefully it can be configured without mucking with the PHP code. I hate coding in PHP.
