Its too bad I lost some of the stories from last year from that hard drive crash, I had some important stories leading up to this one. Oh well. The past few months I've been contemplating on what to do at this stage of my life. I've got a good job, good friends, cool hobbies, but still I've been irritated with some feeling of stagnation and overall boredom... and when I'm feeling this way, my productivity and creativity seems to stall.

Then I realized I'd been in California for over 10 years now! Crazy. Way too long, I thought I would be dead by now... j/k. :) I know most of you know that I haven't been the biggest fan of the "South Bay" (Silicon Valley Proper). Any righteous hacker who isn't trying to go big at the latest IPO would agree with me that the lifestyle here sucks for anything other than for that sole purpose. If not, they haven't traveled to enough cities for sure. So anyway, I finally decided to do something about it. First, I thought I was just going to move up to San Francisco permanently which is a perfectly good idea, but I've decided to move eastward instead! Everyone I've told this to says I'm nuts. They ask, why would you want to leave the perfectly good weather of California? Well, I think its time for me to toughen myself up a bit and learn what cold weather is all about. I've lived in Japan, Hawaii, California in respective order* and now next will be BOSTON! It seems right to move rightward in this direction. I finally got something exciting new to look forward to. All this being said, I do plan to return to California someday after this "adventure" out east is finished... of course unless I decide to go even more rightward after this stint. :) (* I was born in Nashville TN, but only lived there 1 year)
