Best Cheap Activity Around - Disc Golf

Yesterday I called up a few friends to see if they want to join me to try disc golfing at De Laveaga park. Supposedly its one of the disc golf course in the country. What is disc golf you ask? Check it here. I tried it once before years ago with some co-workers when I worked at Galatia Inc, but forgot how fun it really was. The best part about disc golfing is that its totally free! Its kind of like hiking in the mountains, but with a purpose. Gary and Jay said they were free so they joined me today. We purchased the specialized discs/frisbees at the regular golf course club house. They run from about $11 to $16 and come in different shapes for various flight characteristics such as drivers and putters. At first we were pretty pathetic, but by the end of the day we were all doing pretty well. Each hole was around 300 to 400 yards and were 3 par. I ended up winning today's game by just a few throws getting a few pars here and there. I'd say its probably the most fun activity I know of that you can do with a group of buddies that costs close to nothing.
