NSXs at TrackI just got an email from fellow NSXer with a link about the discontinuation of the NSX. In the early 90s, the NSX was one the most amazing sports cars in the world. Designed to defeat Ferrari at their own game by crushing the F348 and having the reliability of an Accord. Its unfortunate that Honda never attempted to keep the powerplant competitive with the newer cars after the 1990s, but still the balance and layout of the suspension and chassis make it one of the best handling and most rewarding cars to drive.

I bought my '94 in 2000 and still love the car even more than when I bought it. The car really taught me a lot about what a sports car really should be about. Aside from the amazing performance, the car's reliability is just incredible. Mine has over 90,000 miles and I have had nothing major gone wrong even after taking the car to over 15 racetrack events. Ken, my other buddy, has taken his '97 NSX to the track almost 100 times with absolutely no problems with the motor. He also drives it to and front the track located anywhere between Seattle and Phoenix Arizona.  The engineering and thoughtfull compromizes put into the NSX was truely amazing.  As I drive my NSX about, I still never see another car I'd rather be driving on a daily basis...  Ok ok... I'll take a new F-car or a P-car, but I'd still need 2 while one is in the shop.

Some people also bad mouth the car without truely knowing what it is like to drive or what it is capable of in stock form.  I will back up the car's potential with my laptimes I've produced at Thunderhill as an example. I'm a amateur club racer so I have decent skills to extract a good portion of the car's potential.   I ran a 2:08:xx at Thunderhill normal direction w/bypass using street tires.  The motor is completely stock as are the brakes, the only major modification is to the suspension which I changed to higher spring rate and lower ride height.  If you know anything about Thunderhill laptimes, you will know that is a respectable time for a street car.
